My AHU runs but the floor still feels stuffy. Is that an air handler problem?
Usually yes. Stuffy, under-conditioned spaces often trace to a fouled coil, a slipping belt or under-speed VFD reducing CFM, a stuck economizer damper, or a loaded filter bank. We measure actual airflow and leaving-air temperature against design to find which of those is the cause rather than guessing.
Can repairing or upgrading our AHUs help with Local Law 97?
It can. Tuning VFD control, cleaning coils to restore heat transfer, sealing leaking dampers, and correcting economizer operation all cut the energy an air handler wastes, which lowers building emissions counted under Local Law 97. We can flag efficiency opportunities while we're in the unit.
Do you work on both chilled-water and DX air handlers?
